Trained at the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris
Born in Santiago de Compostela, Alejandro Baliñas Vieites studied piano there until 2017, before devoting himself to singing in Santiago and La Coruña until 2019. He continues his training at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, having won a scholarship from the Ferrer-Salat Foundation. He participated in the lyric seasons of the Friends of La Coruña Opera and performed in Sabadell, where he participated in three opera academies (Falstaff, as Pistola; La Cenerentola, as Alidoro; The Magic Flute, as Sarastro).
In 2021 he will sing the roles of Angelotti (Tosca) and the King (Aida), again at the Sabadell Opera. He also sings Tom Johnson's opera The Four Notes and the role of Martino (L'occasione fa il ladro) at the Sarrià Opera. In July 2021 he sings the role of Don Profondo (Le Voyage à Reims) at the Rossini Festival in Pesaro.
In September 2021, he joins the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris and sings the role of Sénèque (Le Couronnement de Poppée) in March 2022. In the summer of 2022, he sings the role of Anselmo (La Gazzetta) at the Rossini Festival. In the 2022-2023 season, he sings the role of the Marquis (La Force du destin) in La Coruña. In 2023 he won the Prix de l'AROP and the Prix du Cercle Carpeaux. He took part in the Young Singers project at the Salzburg Festival, performing in Martinů's La Passion grecque and singing the role of Sourine (La Dame de pique).
During the 2023-2024 season, he is a member of the Opéra national de Paris Opera Lyric Group. At the beginning of the 2024-2025 season, he wins the First Prize, the Special Patagonian Prize, the Audience Prize and the Young Jury Prize in the 2024 edition of the New Voices Competition and sings the role of Timur (Turandot) at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville.
