The price of each tool, man hour rate, vehicles, etc. can all be chosen ahead of time, and then you can just select what the job requires and it'll add it all up for you right then and there. Not only does this produce accurate estimates but it allows me to tell the client immediately what the situation is. Makes my job easier, and leaves the customers happy. What's not to love? 5 stars for sure.

I've used ArboStar for over a year now. It really has become the lifeblood of how we do business. It is incredibly feature-rich and includes a plethora of modules, from accounting to estimating to analytics to customer service, the list goes on.
Cons
Nothing major. Over the past year, if I encountered a bug, I'd reach out and the customer service team would address it promptly. And none of the bugs were anything major, anyway.

One of my favorite features is the ability to get a full picture of the estimate without leaving the site. I can make them as detailed as I want, including the necessary equipment, number of people on the team, estimated hours, other expenses, you name it. And there's even an auto-estimator function to help take all these things into account. And it all works right from my phone.
Cons
I really don't have anything bad to say about the app. It has been incredibly helpful for my day-to-day work.

I love the auto-estimate feature and the ability to quickly turn estimates into work orders. I also really find the GPS photo-tagging ability to be very convenient. Instead of trying to describe trees and locations, I can snap a photo, and it's tagged by its location so there's no confusion for the workers.
Cons
I had an initial issue on mobile, but I contacted the customer service team and they responded prompt and accurately, solving my issue. So really no complaints here.

Easy to communicate information across employees and clients, view what needs to be done, and get to doing it. GPS features, live map, equipment tracking, etc. Tons of useful ways to use the app. Not really a con, but the interface looked different to me on my Windows tablet versus my phone, but I realized that was just a difference between the two operating systems. Very useful app that allows me to do my job effectively and see where all the equipment is at any given time. So much better than the old way of doing things.

My experience
I've been in the tree care business for over 30 years now and have used many different service platforms. I found ArboStar to be exactly what my tree care business needs. From streamlining the business process to ease of use, this software is so much better than the ones I've used in the past. Everything just makes so much more sense with this app. For example, the financial records of my company are stored in the cloud and are synced with Quickbooks immediately, which definitely gives me peace of mind. I absolutely love it and would definitely recommend ArboStar to other businesses.

Excellent report generation. It pulls financial data from the other modules and auto-populates the reports module with said data, allowing for easier and more accurate reports free from human error. This makes it a breeze to generate any and all reports that I think might be useful and might steer the company in a better financial direction. These reports have also shown us where we're overspending and where we can trim the fat to save on expenses.
Cons
Nothing to criticize. There were a couple of bugs (I was a fairly early adopter of the app), but these were taken care of within the first week that we started using the software and weren't anything major anyway.

From a boots on the ground perspective, I think this app is great. The app works right from my smartphone and allows me to do my job quicker and immediately resolve any issues that come up. I've started to see it as another essential tool in my toolkit. A couple weeks ago I forgot to charge my phone, so I had to borrow my wife's which didn't have the app installed, and it felt like I was missing a vital tool throughout the day. That just shows me how useful ArboStar has become to my daily work.

App has made my job a lot easier. I show up on site, and there's GPS-tagged pictures of the trees with descriptions of what exactly needs doing. No more second-guessing if I'm removing the wrong tree. Now I can just show up on site and do the job. It also makes it super easy to contact other team members as well as keep track of all our vehicles. Very pleased with this app.

I'm not a tech-guy at all. I'm lucky if I can get Netflix to work. So I was a little unhappy at first when we were told we had to start using this software. But honestly, it didn't take too long to learn, and now it makes my job way easier. So if you're like me and don't like fancy apps, don't worry. Everything is laid out in a way that makes sense, and I'm shocked at how easy it was to get familiar with. Now it's like second-nature to me.

Previously, our company only used catch-all software that was designed to handle every industry. I never knew that the same type of software is out there for the tree-care industry. Making the switch was great, as having software specific to the tree-care niche gives us access to tools we didn't previously have. Things like fleet management and HR issues are obviously specific to the tree-care industry, so having software that's specific to those issues allows us to be so much more efficient. Issues can be handled right in the app, and the fleet management module is particularly useful compared to our previous software.
Cons
As with any new technology, there's a learning period that you have to go through to truly become comfortable with the software. I used my old software for many years, so at first I was hesitant to switch. But ArboStar is just better suited for the tree-care industry than the catch-all software our business used, so I'm glad I took the time to learn a new system.

This app makes it a breeze to send messages to potential and current clients. No more messing with calendars and schedules trying to figure out when to send messages to which customer. Everything can be automated to send my texts and emails to whom I want, when I want. Makes my life a whole lot easier, and that's a pro in my book! It also allows my customers to communicate back to ME in a very easy way. It has an intuitive ticket system that allows me to see all potential issues, and respond to them in the order they came in.
Cons
No current issues. I did have one bug involving the ticket resolution service, but I brought it up to ArboStar and it was fixed within 24 hours.

The learning curve has been challenging but engaging, as there are so many features to work with. The features all make life easier though, so even if they take a bit of time to initially learn, they more than make up for it in the long run. I personally would never go back to my old way of doing things. The integration is just great with ArboStar, and they're apparently adding more features as people request them, so that's a big plus too.

I love the auto-estimate feature. It learns what types of estimates you have made in the past, and auto-suggest an estimate that you can tweek if you find it too high or too low. This has taken a lot of the guesswork out of the situation, as often the estimate is dead-on. The pipeline from initial estimate to work orders is also very efficient. Once I confirm an estimate, I can send it right over in the app and it just moves down through the system. It's a really effortless interface and makes things easy.
Cons
I suppose the only con would be if you wanted to use this app for a different field. It is specifically designed for the arborist niche, so make sure you keep that in mind. My friend runs a painting company, and while I wish I could suggest this to him, it just is too specific to the tree care industry. But if you deal with trees, this is the app you want!

Better than QuickBooks. For any people in accounting out there, that's basically all I need to say! This app makes everything so much more streamlined: invoicing, payments, record-keeping, you name it. I wasn't sure what to expect when I was asked to switch to this app, but after the first week I was sold.

Nothing to really complain about. Sometimes I get a bit confused with where certain features are located, but I can refer to the documentation to sort that out. I also have only been using the software for a few months now, and the more I use it, the less confused I get, which is always a good sign!

We had always had a hard time managing our fieldworkers’ schedules, keeping track of customers, and sending out invoices. Now that we're using ArboStar, all that has changed. Our workflow is much more organized and we're seeing an increase in income. I've been using ArboStar for about a month now, and am so far very impressed with what I've seen so far. It makes my job so much easier – it allows me to take down customer information into as many cells as needed, and automatically create estimates, work orders, and invoices. Very streamlined, which in the customer service world, is absolutely everything. Instead of having to juggle multiple apps while I'm on a call with a client, I can simply let one app do all of the work. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve when it comes to getting the most out of the app. I personally started off slow and used the features that made sense to me, and incorporated new ones into my work process as I understood them. Just don't expect to understand everything the app offers on day one. It took me some tinkering around to really get used to everything.

Before ArboStar we were still using paper invoices. We really wanted to go paperless and this really helped! Before ArboStar, we'd have to tell customers they'd need to call the office to pay with their card. We're a small family company so sometimes they were stuck waiting until I was available to process it for them. Now all that can happen online without me having to be there to do it.

It was great that our estimators were able to input all the necessary details to build up the invoice at the job site. The GPS and Live map features are also great. They let us know where our field team was at all times and if they were still running on schedule so we could call customers if we needed to inform them of any delays.

As a fieldworker, i will say that ArboStar has one of the best mobile apps that you will find out there. The interface is top-notch, clean, and easy to navigate. Using ArboStar, we're able to create estimates and work through an ongoing job without it affecting our bookkeeping in Quickbooks Online. We love the ease of use, It has a search bar that you can search for your in customer several different ways. The customer can be emailed/ texted via the platform. This software actually replaced three others that we were using. Their tech support is out of this world with helping when needed.

My personal review for Arbostar
Before ArboStar we were using an outdated program that was very limited and didn’t meet up to our day to day tasks as a tree care company. With ArboStar, we can customize the platform to fit our everyday needs and gives us options we never even dreamed of using. The amount of options at hand is abundant. It’s so nice not to be limited when scheduling customers and creating their profiles. It cuts out time in half if not more being able to customize our program to fit our needs. It’s been about a month now using the program and couldn’t be happier.

There are so many things I enjoy about ArboStar and it is hard to name just one. ArboStar listens to customers. I have witnessed some of my suggestions become a reality. Arbostar has a ton of useful modules and features, and they seem to be constantly adding more. I love the real-time lead display that shows up instantly on my phone. The app connects to my phone's GPS, meaning if I'm in the area I can easily check out potential job sites the moment the customer needs something. The software also keeps track of basically every piece of information I could possibly need, so everything I need to know about my business operations is sitting right in my pocket at all times.
Cons
Everything is quite intuitively placed, but I would have liked some type of tutorial that walked me through every feature. There were some features, like the ability to listen to recorded phone conversations, that I didn't know existed until I stumbled upon them a month after getting the app. There's a lot of helpful features, and I want to make sure I'm aware of all of them and know how to use them.

Arbostar is the most user-friendly software I have used for my business. It is created with the end-user in mind. It is exactly what I need. I can’t imagine running my business without Arbostar anymore. With Arbostar we are now more organized and more productive. I like having everything easily accessible in one software. From creating client profiles to estimating, creating workorders, scheduling, invoicing, customer communication, etc. With the mobile app, we visit our clients, provide instant estimates on the spot, and if needed make the necessary changes. It has made the estimating process faster and smoother. Obviously, this has resulted in a profit increase. The Arbostar team is also very helpful in supporting us with everything we need. I am very much satisfied with Arbostar and recommend it to other tree care businesses.
