Andrzej Filończyk studied at the Academy of Music in Wroclaw with Bogan Makal, at the Academy of National Opera in Warsaw and at the Opera Studio in Zurich. He has participated in various national and international competitions, including the Bohuslav Martinů International Competition in Prague in 2014 (first prize for the best interpretation of twentieth-century melodies and the Czech Radio Prize) and the Moniuszko Competition (prize for the best Polish singer, prize for the youngest finalist). In 2015 he made his debut in the role of Tonio (Pagliacci) at the Grand Theater in Poznañ. The following year he sang the title role in Eugene Onegin on the same stage.
Subsequently he appeared in La Bohème (Schaunard) in Cagliari, Pagliacci (Silvio) in Turin and London, Le Barbier de Séville (Figaro) in Zurich and Moscow, Lucrezia Borgia (Gubetta) in Salzburg, Maria Stuarda (Lord Cecil) in Zurich, La Bohème (Marcello) in Toronto, La Ville morte (Frank) in Munich, The Marriage of Figaro (Count Almaviva) in Valencia, Les Puritains (Riccardo) in Frankfurt, the title role in Don Giovanni in Dresden.
In recent seasons he has sung Marcello in Madrid, Berlin and Naples, Frank in Hong Kong, Lord Enrico Ashton (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Munich and Berlin, Docteur Malatesta (Don Pasquale) in London and Barcelona, Belcore (L'Élixir d'amour) at the Chorégies d'Orange and in Hamburg, Raimbaud (Le Comte Ory) in Pesaro, Riccardo and Mercutio (Roméo et Juliette) in Bilbao, Figaro and Silvio (Pagliacci) in London, the title role of Don Giovanni in Vienna, Naples and Berlin. In the 2024-2025 season, his appearances include Belcore at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Lord Cecil (Maria Stuarda) at the Teatro Real in Madrid, and Figaro at the Teatr Wielki in Poznań and the Vienna State Opera.
