© Thierry Coduys
Thierry Coduys is a multi-talented artist, musician, sound designer and specialist in new technologies, with a passion for projects that combine interactivity and contemporary art. Since 1986, he has worked closely with the avant-garde of contemporary creation, collaborating with emblematic figures such as Karlheinz Stockhausen and Steve Reich. He has produced numerous creations, concerts and performances and developed innovative electro-acoustic and computer-based devices. After several years at IRCAM, he spent four years as Luciano Berio's assistant in Florence.
In 1999 he founded La Kitchen, a technological platform dedicated to research and artistic creation, where technology and art are integrated into a single paradigm. La Kitchen welcomes artists from a variety of backgrounds, including music, dance, theatre, video, visual arts and network art, and fosters interdisciplinary collaborations. In 2007, Thierry Coduys launched Le Hub, an independent initiative offering a space for reflection and a vast network bringing together all sectors of contemporary creation. He has been Pascal Dusapin's assistant since 2002 and has worked with numerous composers since the 1990s and with director Jean-François Peyret since 2001.
A lecturer at the École Louis Lumière for 15 years, he is currently in charge of the Computer Music Centre at the Venice Biennale and works closely with the Biennale Musica festival. For the past 25 years, he has also led the development of IanniX, a graphical interface inspired by Iannis Xenakis's UPIC, and worked with the company Holophonix on the development of a new real-time workstation dedicated to spatialisation (Holophonix). As a technology expert for OSEO for many years, he has also contributed to the support of innovation, thus reinforcing his key role in the field of artistic and technological creation.
